Select Committee on Wood Supply, Legislative Assembly

The Legislative Assembly's Select Committee on Wood Supply has announced the dates and locations of public hearings to be held throughout the province. The committee, composed of MLAs from all parties in the Assembly, is mandated to examine and report on the status of sustainable wood supply from Crown lands in New Brunswick.

The committee is interested in hearing from members of the public and interested stakeholders regarding their views and ideas pertaining to the future direction of Crown land forest management. In particular, the committee will consider the opportunities and strategies arising from the Jaakko Pöyry Report to increase the available wood supply from Crown lands in New Brunswick. Copies of the report can be obtained from the Office of the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly or online at: http://www.gnb.ca/0078/reports/jpmc.asp.

The committee will travel the province to hear from the public. Hearings will begin at 10 a.m. each day as follows:

Individuals or organizations that wish to make a presentation to the committee should advise the Office of the Clerk at least three business days prior to the date of the hearing they wish to attend.
